Position Summary

Yute Commuter Service is seeking professional, safety-focused pilots to join our Part 135 team serving the communities of Western Alaska. Operating scheduled and charter flights throughout the Yukon-Kuskokwim (Y-K) Delta, our pilots play a vital role in connecting remote communities with essential transportation year-round.

Whether you’re an experienced Captain or an aspiring commercial pilot looking to build turbine experience through our Cessna 208 Caravan Second-in-Command Professional Development Program, you’ll gain valuable Alaska flying experience while working alongside an experienced and supportive team.

Our pilots enjoy a predictable 15 days on / 15 days off rotational schedule, allowing for an exceptional work-life balance while flying in one of the most unique and rewarding aviation environments in the world.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Safely conduct Part 135 scheduled and charter flight operations in accordance with FAA regulations and company procedures.

  • Perform thorough pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight inspections.

  • Evaluate weather, aircraft performance, and operational conditions to ensure safe flight operations.

  • Maintain accurate flight records and required documentation.

  • Provide professional, courteous customer service to passengers and communities we serve.

  • Exercise sound judgment and aeronautical decision-making in dynamic operating environments.

  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, maintenance personnel, and fellow crew members.

  • Maintain the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and regulatory compliance.

Pilots accepted into our FAA-approved Professional Development Program will:

Pilot-in-Command (PIC)

Minimum Requirements

Flight Experience

VFR Operations

  • Minimum 500 hours total flight time

IFR Operations

Preferred Qualifications

Cessna 208 Caravan

Piper Navajo (PA-31)

Additional preferred experience:

Second-in-Command (SIC) – C208 Caravan Professional Development Program

Minimum Requirements

This program is designed for motivated commercial pilots who meet minimum qualifications but are seeking additional experience before upgrading to a Captain position.
